Last updated: March 2026
Acceptance
By using CloakShare ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
The Service
CloakShare provides secure document and video sharing via API. You upload files, we render them into secure viewer links with tracking, watermarks, and access controls. The software is open source under the MIT License.
Your responsibilities
- You own the content you upload, or have the right to share it.
- You won't use the Service to share illegal, harmful, or infringing content.
- You're responsible for keeping your API keys and credentials secure.
- You won't attempt to circumvent usage limits or rate limits.
Our responsibilities
- We'll make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available and secure.
- We won't access your uploaded files except to provide the Service or when required by law.
- We'll notify you of material changes to these terms.
Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. You can cancel anytime. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. The free tier includes limited usage — see the pricing page for details.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination, your files and rendered content are permanently deleted.
Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months prior.
